In summer 2010, an Anglo-Chinese expedition led by Prof. Rudy Gozlan will be going back to remote parts of China to find the origin of a fish invasion. A group of scientists from Bournemouth University and the Chinese Academy of Science will collect topmouth gudgeon material from 33 locations covering 9 major catchments and a trail of 10000km.

Day 10
WWe have been in the Fujan province where there was heavy rain. Roads were flooded everywhere and we had to take a long way around. We didn't get any fish from our past two locations so morale is low. Maybe tomorrow. At the market, I feel like a boxer who gets knocked out by the welfare of animals. Birds, rabbit and guiney piggs skinned alived. It is quite upsetting and difficult to get used to.
Hello all! You cannot have moral low! You are doing great and it can only get better. At least, you've got water! It is so dry over here that my fen ponds have dried out even before the rare microbe that grows there had a chance to develop its summer population! Good luck with everything - you have a lot of moral support from this part of the world! Genoveva
